Reaper Scans is a free online reading platform built for fans of Asian comics. We bring together manga from Japan, manhwa from Korea, and manhua from China, all translated into English and made available to read in one place. Our goal has always been simple: give readers around the world easy access to great stories, regardless of which language those stories were first written in.
Who We Are
We are a team of comic enthusiasts, translators, and editors who genuinely love the medium. Reaper Scans started as a passion project, a small group of readers who wanted better access to the titles they loved and decided to do something about it. That same spirit still drives everything we do today.
Our team works across time zones to source, translate, clean, and publish chapters as quickly and accurately as we can. We take quality seriously. Every chapter goes through translation and editing before it goes live, because we believe the story deserves to be read the way the creator intended it, just in a language more readers can follow.

A Note on Official Platforms
Reaper Scans is a fan-run scanlation site. The creators of the comics in our library do not receive payment from reads on this site. We want to be upfront about that. If you find a series you love here, we genuinely encourage you to check whether it’s available on an official platform such as Webtoon, Tapas, Manta, Lezhin, or Wuxiaworld. The official market for Asian comics in English has grown enormously, and many titles now have legal versions that come out at the same time as the originals.
We see our role as a discovery platform: a place where readers find new favorites they might never have encountered otherwise, with the hope that some of those readers go on to support the creators directly.
Our Story
Reaper Scans was founded around 2018 by a group of fans who were frustrated by the gap between great comics being published in East Asia and the lack of English translations for them. Many titles simply weren’t available in English, and the ones that were often had months-long delays before official translations caught up.
We started translating to fill that gap. Over the years, the library grew, the team grew, and the readership grew into a worldwide community of comic fans who share a passion for these stories. The industry has changed significantly since we started. Official translations are faster and more widely available than ever before. We’re proud to have played a small part in introducing millions of readers to a medium they now love.
